The Forcefield Rib Protector was designed with activities like karting in mind, where the ribs are particularly vulnerable.
Forcefield armour is designed to be soft, comfortable and flexible whilst providing the maximum amount of protection. Using layers of different material, Forcefield armour is less bulky than competitors armour and mould to the body after only a couple of minutes of wearing.
The most important material in Forcefield rib protectors is Nitrex, a unique high tech shock absorbing layer (the triangular patterened outer layer). The materials used make Forcefield armour differs from hard shell armour, which is generally designed to take one impact. Forcefield refer to their armour as using "Repeat Performance Technology", as Forcefield armour can absorb multiple impacts with no loss of performance.
