So called because of the level at which it passes the CE approval standard of EN1621-2:2003 - under 4kn - the Forcefield Pro Sub 4 is in a class of its own, beating even the previous best of the Forcefield Pro Level 2 back protector. Independent testing by SATRA (certified test house) verified the Pro sub 4 with an average multiple impact rate over seven tests of 3.38kn.

The level of protection offered by the Forcefield Pro Sub 4 back protector has not been at the expense of comfort. The outer cover is removable and washable, which allows the layers of impact absorbing material to be held together without being bonded at the edges. If you are used to the flexible qualities of other Forcefield back protectors and the way Forcefield armour moulds to you there are no unpleasant surprises here - the Pro Sub 4 is still very comfortable and unobtrusive.

As with all Forcefield armour, the Pro Sub 4 benefits from Forcefields Repeat Performance Technology. Unlike hard shell armour, Forcefield armour can take repeated hits without any deterioration in performance - useful if you are rolling , or like Keith, our Holborn manager (see below), crash frequently.

The special ingerdient that makes Forcefield Armour special is Nitrex, which allows a consistent level of protection across the whole surface. Nitrex is matched with other layers of material which combine to give the unsurpassed levels of protection in the Forcefield Pro Sub 4.The layers of material all have ventilation holes making the back protector breathable.

At Infinity Motorcycles we have a great relationship with most of our suppliers, and in the case of the guys at Forcefield we get on really well as their sales director used to work with us!
As a firm believer in, and all too frequent tester of Forcefield Armour it was hardly surprising when I got a call from him asking if I wanted to try out the prototype of a new back protector they were developing. It's called the Pro Sub 4 and has already won a prestigous MCN award before it has even gone on sale here in the UK.
The Forcefield Pro Sub 4 back protector has a removable & washable outer cover; so you can keep the cover clean and hygienic. It also makes the protector more flexible as it is not bonded at the edges, this in turn makes it more comfortable, something of a priority when Forcefield design any protector, since it's known that if a protector isn't comfortable it will not be used or could be distracting and dangerous for the rider. As with all Forcefield Body Armour the Pro Sub 4 has RPT (Repeat Performance Technology) ensuring continued and consistent protection even after multiple impacts.
To wear it's a little bit thicker than my normal back protector, but any worries I had about comfort quickly dissipated when it warmed up and happily moulded itself to my body shape. I think the best thing I can say about this, and all Forcefield products is that once they're on you really don't notice them.
I'd recomend taking your existing motorcycle clothing to the shop when you try this, or indeed any other under garment on.
I know it sounds cliched but this new back protector really does set a new standard and is clearly a class leader
