The Arai Tour-X 4 looks very similar to the Tour-X 3, but has a completely new shell, bigger vents and an updated fit. The new shell uses Super Fibre Laminated material with Hyper Ridge Reinforcement - the reinforcement is in the lower part or the helmet and keeps the centre of balance of the helmet low. The cheek pads have been re-shaped to have a firmer grip on the lower jaw, which in turn makes the helmet fit more snuggly. As with most Arai helmets, the cheek pads can be swapped for different thicknesses, but there is also a 5mm thick layer on the cheek pads and temple pad which can be removed to change the fit without the need to replace any of the lining.
For off road use, the Tour-X 4 can be used without the visor and the aperture is big enough to accommodate motocross goggles. Another boon for off road riding is the Dry-Cool lining, which can be removed and washed.
