The Shoei Multitec is our favourite flip front helmet. The shell is amde from Shoei's AIM+ material, using Shoei's moulding technique to keep weight to a minimum, and the chinbar is made from poycarb for the same reason, although for safety's sake is reinforced with a steel bar. The lock mechanism is made from metal too for even more strength and durability. Shoei's wind tunnel expertise means the vents really work and the ridge on the back of the shell is there to help with stability at speed. A tint visor is included in the box (Shoei think the internal sun visor idea isn't as good safety wise and the mechanism adds a lot of weight). Shoei's visor swap system is the best on the business - it's really quick and easy to use. Also in the box is a Whipser Strip Kit, which seals the collar better if wind noise is an issue, and, as you'd probably expect by now, a Pinlock insert. The Multitecs lining features removable cheek pads (available in various thicknesses), recess for glasses wearers, and there are even indents for intercom headphones - we reckon these are one of the easiest flip fronts to fit an Autocom intercom to.
