There are many indications that winters’ icy fingers are drawing closer, the days get shorter, the trees drop their leaves and real bikers dig out their handlebar muffs.
They may not be the most attractive of accessories, but they’re certainly one of the most effective guards against the cold weather you can fit.
They’re easy to fit, will last many years and most importantly of all, they work!
What you’re guarding against are the numbing effects of wind chill and the numbers are quite scary; at 30mph when its 5 degrees Fahrenheit outside the wind chill is rated at minus 19 degrees Fahrenheit. If the Temperature is zero then at 50 mph you’re battling minus 31 Fahrenheit!
If your hands are in some nice warm winter gloves then you’ve got the first line in weather protection that’s an essential part of winter riding, however as regular winter commuter knows they’re often not enough unless you have heated gloves or heated handlebar grips.
There are a variety of handlebar muffs on the market and as with most of our product lines Infinity motorcycles are delighted to be able to give you a choice.
Our London branches carry Tucano handlebar muffs which come in a variety of styles to suit the majority of motorcycles and scooters. There are the two basic neoprene models and a selection of larger types which are designed to suit a variety of applications. All of the Infinity staff will be able to help you with choosing the model to suit your application.
The other model we stock is the Oxford handlebar muff. This comes in one main design but is designed to fit most bikes and so is seen as a ‘universal’ model. This product has sold in its thousands over the years and is one of the mainstays of the courier industry.
So forget about the image, if you’re a real biker you’ll be riding in the winter and handlebar muffs are an essential part of riding year round.
