Alpinestars Santiago Drystar Gloves - Black
Alpinestars Santiago Drystar Gloves:
The Alpinestars Santiago motorcycle gloves are perfect for riding in the cold weather. Traditional winter gloves are usually bulky but not these Alpinestars gloves. The Drystar bonded triple layer is designed to reduce the material chassis making them far more lightweight. This means you’ll still get the same comfort and weather protection without compromising your sensitivity to the bike’s controls. This bonded layer is also waterproof and breathable so your hands will remain dry with no worry of them getting uncomfortable. The moulded polymer knuckle guard and EVA foam padding provide great impact and abrasion resistance as well. This all makes these motorbike gloves a great choice for riding, no matter the weather.

The Heritage of Alpinestars
Alpinestars take their name from the Italian mountain flower Stella Alpina, known to grow in the mountains around Sante Mazzarolo’s home town of Asolo, in northern Italy. Stella Alpina, means, well, “Alpine Star” in English. They have carried their origins with them proudly as they have grown and developed into a unique company dedicated to really high quality motorcycle clothing.
They began by making hiking boots and ski boots, branched out into making motocross boots and road racing boots, and from there became one of the most well-regarded manufacturers of motorcycle clothing in Europe.
Never content to rest on their laurels, Alpinestars have taken engineering inspiration from every spot they tough, all of which has helped their motorcycle clothing range cater for every conceivable need. From Dale Earnhardt Jr’s striking Alpinestars gloves in NASCAR to Jenson Button’s Racing boots and gloves, these drivers help inform and shape Alpinestars’ motorcycle range with fresh and innovative insights.
How to Look After Textile Alpinestars Clothing
As with any other form of advanced motorcycle clothing, Alpinestars clothing needs to be looked after carefully to ensure its waterproof and protective qualities are retained.
As one of the biggest names in protective clothing, Alpinestars produce quality products that are worth looking after. Stocking a wide range of their waterproof jackets, we have put together this care guide for when you need to clean your Alpinestars waterproof garment.
Not forcing any aspect of the cleaning or drying process is the best way to go when you clean your Alpinestars clothing.
Remove armour and close zippers.
Remove any lining and wash separately at allow temperature on a normal cycle.
Brush off any dirt from the clothing, soaking in warm water if required.
Wash with a mild detergent on a low-temperature setting.
Don’t try to dry the garment too quickly – you could shrink the material and damage it.

Mid season gloves
Great gloves, fits very well and seems to be waterproof. Not too warm, so in really cold weather they may struggle
Good mid season glove
I've had these a year now bought from the Norwich store (very friendly and supportive staff - no pressure sales). I wanted a mid season glove and one for when summer mornings are still cool and not a winter glove and for me these do the job. Not a winter glove most definitely. I had to go a size up as the knuckle protectors are quite rigid, although they have given over time so can now get a silk inner in for late Autumn. I've worn them in the wet and seem waterproof to me - just don't put wet hands in as they takes ages to dry from the inside. Initially the grip on the fingers was a bit slippy on levers but this sorted itself out within a month or two. As a previous review said, they are starting to get a bit smelly and sticky on longer warmer rides now but I do rate them and would go for them again or similar. Lost a star due to the initial grip issues and now being a bit sticky inside
Got a pair of these gloves a year ago from the Clapham branch. They're good for moderate levels of rain but will get wet in heavy rain. Wind and cold protection is good enough during Autumn but could be tricky for Winter. Worst thing about these gloves are if you're unlucky to spend a few warm days in them they start smelling and the smell doesn't go away whatever you do. I always dread having to wear them beacuse the smell doesn't leave my hands no matter how hard I wash my hands so looking for a replacement instead hence the two stars.
