Alpinestars SMX-2 Air Carbon V2 Gloves
The Alpinestars SMX-2 Air Carbon V2 gloves are a newer instalment of Alpinestars ever-reliable SMX range of motorcycle gear, and the SMX-2 Air Carbon gloves have had some of the newest design put in to make even better than the previous iteration.
The main shell of the gloves is constructed from a mix of leather and textile, the full-grain leather is highly protective against abrasions while being lightweight and supple, and in key areas of the gloves there is 3D mesh that gives the gloves amazing breathability. The palm of the gloves is made from premium quality suede that is great for grip on the bars of your bike. The thumb of the gloves features additional impact protection thanks to absorbing EVA foam panels.
The fingertips of the SMX-2 Air Carbon gloves are touchscreen compatible so you can easily use a GPS without having to take off your gloves. The wrist cuff is made from neoprene and the TPR closure gives a comfortable and personalised fit. The carbon protector on the knuckles of the gloves provides exceptional impact protection and is reinforced with thick EVA foam for better comfort and impact absorption.

The Heritage of Alpinestars
Alpinestars take their name from the Italian mountain flower Stella Alpina, known to grow in the mountains around Sante Mazzarolo’s home town of Asolo, in northern Italy. Stella Alpina, means, well, “Alpine Star” in English. They have carried their origins with them proudly as they have grown and developed into a unique company dedicated to really high quality motorcycle clothing.
They began by making hiking boots and ski boots, branched out into making motocross boots and road racing boots, and from there became one of the most well-regarded manufacturers of motorcycle clothing in Europe.
Never content to rest on their laurels, Alpinestars have taken engineering inspiration from every spot they tough, all of which has helped their motorcycle clothing range cater for every conceivable need. From Dale Earnhardt Jr’s striking Alpinestars gloves in NASCAR to Jenson Button’s Racing boots and gloves, these drivers help inform and shape Alpinestars’ motorcycle range with fresh and innovative insights.

Not forcing any aspect of the cleaning or drying process is the best way to go when you clean your Alpinestars clothing.
Remove armour and close zippers.
Remove any lining and wash separately at allow temperature on a normal cycle.
Brush off any dirt from the clothing, soaking in warm water if required.
Wash with a mild detergent on a low-temperature setting.
Don’t try to dry the garment too quickly – you could shrink the material and damage it.

Brill spring/summer/autumn gloves
I've owned a pair of these for a couple of years now, and they are great. Not warm enough for me once temperatures get below 10 degrees c, but then they're meant as a summer glove. Good feedback through the controls, but thick enough to feel like you've got some protection. After 2 years, the fabric part has started to fray a little, but nothing to worry about. Would definitely have another pair when these wear out. Only word of caution is that they came up small when I bought mine. I take a large normally, but needed XL.
