PRODUCT REVIEWS
The average review for this product is 4.5 stars
Brilliant
High quality equipment and genuine service (including post-sale) from the Infinity Team.
Good but could be better ...
It needs an elasticated adjustable waist band to ensure it's close to the skin at all times. A foldable insulated collar would be useful. A longer back to the vest would help while riding the motorbike. The controller that hangs down works great on a motorbike but it looks a bit silly when not riding the bike - it should have a way to clip onto the vest to keep it out the way. The battery pocket has a velcro tab that sometimes starts to itch - easy to adjust if I wasn't in my motorcycle gear. It should have a standard battery connection - it annoys me that there are better batteries with more capacity out there but they won't fit their connection.
It's not a bad heated vest and works fine after 5 years of use, it's worked fine in rain and snow, but if another manufacturer provided the above features then I'd swap.
Great for riding below 10 degrees C
I spoke to a rider wearing one of these heated vests and bought one on the strength of their recommendation. I looked at all the rest and am glad that I read reviews and bought the Keis V106.
I repeat what others say: Choose at least 1 or even 2 sizes down for a snug fit but not too snug. I'm a 42 inch chest and went 2 down and it fits with slight movement over a T-shirt and thin shirt. It's great to have freedom of movement and not be all bunched up in thick jumpers.
Buy the controller unless you ride in zero C. Set at medium at 5C and I can ride all day at 70mph with a screen. Brilliant piece of kit but wish I'd gone for long sleeves for riding below 5C, which is not very often. Even with winter gloves, heated grips and brake lever covers, my fingers get cold at 5C but my toes are fine.
This garment has extended my riding seasons to all year round and I now look forward to winter ride outs.
Great heated vest!
Keeps really warm and toasty and great battery pack so you don’t have wires everywhere
Excellent product but get the sizing right
I ride all year round and this Keis heated waistcoat is a replacement for another make which had broken. I wanted a waistcoat that I could power off the accessory socket of my BMW can bus equipped bike so it has to draw under 5 Amps and also wanted the option of battery power. This waistcoat is a great improvement on my previous one, really nice material, seems very well made and is a great fit. NOTE: on sizing as others have said get a smaller size. I am usually a Large with a 42 inch chest (Euro sizer 52) so dropped two sizes and bought a Euro size 48. Perfect over a thin base layer. You will need the optional power controller unless you want to bake to death, and with that fitted the garment works great. Just what I wanted.
Very Impressed
So having decided that I would only ride in warmer weather as I just wasn't enjoying it below 6 deg. I thought that maybe before I give up the winter season; I would give this a go... Infinity also said if I didn't like it I could return it.. no problem...
So with nothing to lose... I went for the vest rather than the Power Jacket as it's an easier fit under my Armour. The vest is really thin and elastic and so wasn't holding out much hope... however, WOW really pleased I tried...
I now go out with just a shirt under my jacket and it's more than hot enough; I am now buying the heat controller to modify and reduce the output... as when sitting at the lights or travelling through town it starts to get too warm! I also found that if my body is warm my hands aren't feeling as cold as much either... Buy snug as suggested in the other reviews and it works a treat... Recommended
Why didn’t I do this before?
Recommended to get heated vests for years never did ,a long trip planned so I bought one, all the heroes who say ride impervious to the cold are wrong!
These things are amazing they work so well
I went into Infinity so they could show me how to use and they did ,they were brilliant
I had to go back twice... I’d been plugging it in the wrong places et cetera but staff , as usual as helpful as could be
The staff at Infinity are fantastic as are their products I never buy anything to do with my bike anywhere else
Try one you’ll be amazed ,you get cold you get sluggish and this causes accidents these things need to be shown for what they are ..safety devices
Pairs well with the gloves
Got these and the G701 gloves wired to the bike, it’s great how the gloves wire into this, then this wires into the bike. Rode in 0 degrees at 70 and was nice and warm
Sizing is bit messed up but Infinity customer service exceptional
Keis sizes their garments in fantasy land. I ended up with the wrong size but Infinity got a replacement sorted super fast. I'd normally wear size large but a size 50 which Keis describes as extra small was my perfect fit. As for the jacket, quality looks great. I haven't tested it in use yet.
Does the job very well
This vest is great - keeps you warm without the bulk by doing the job of 2 or 3 base layers. I wear it a lot - if I have to wear something thin for commuting and have to get off the bike with no where to change but still need to look smart. I can wear a shirt with no base layers, this and then a jacket with a liner. Keeps me warm commuting shortish distances down to around 3/4 degrees.
The reason I give it 4 stars is that you need it tight to get a good contact with the heating elements, but where the battery fits is also where a lot of the other electrical gubbins fits, so it can be a bit irritating when you have it as close fitting as it needs to be. I learnt this by swapping from a size that seemed ok in the shop, to a smaller size that seemed too tight at first, but is definitely the way to go. On that point - excellent service as always from Infinity who swapped it no quibbles.
good
I used the optional power socket which saved me connecting direct to the battery, it certainly warms you up fast and so far its been ideal. my only gripe is the heat is all around the middle and it appears the shoulder area is unheated, but saying that I was given a trial in the Infinity shop , they plugged me in and gave me a good explanation of the pros and cons of the body warmer. Overall I am happy enough with the thing and my battery is not suffering.
