Oxford Mondial Advanced Waterproof Jacket
Bad weather is never the issue, bad gear is. Any rider needs to have the right motorcycle gear for the right occasion, and when the rain starts falling you need a motorcycle jacket and trousers that provide fantastic waterproofing and weather protection. The Oxford Mondial Advanced jacket is a fantastic laminate garment, built to provide the best possible waterproofing possible and available. But with a difference of low cost.
The jacket's lightweight Nylon design incorporates Oxford's highest level Dry2Dry waterproof membrane that is built to allow water to bead off the top layer instead of soak in, limiting the effect the rainwater can have allowing for quick drying when you're finally out of the rain.
The Mondial suit features Oxford's WarmDry Thermal Liner that can be easily removed if the temperature is not the thing causing you problems. But the thermal liner also works alongside the normal jacket liner to provide comfort against the skin. When it gets too warm, the jacket's built-in ventilation system can be activated by zip-operated vents at the forearms and torso, circulating cool air throughout your upper body and exhausting hot air out the back.
Among the additional features of the Mondial jacket are CE approved protectors at the limbs and a back protector pocket (not included), reflective printing for visibility at night, and 360 degree & short connecting zips to the accompanying Mondial trousers for a one-piece textile suit. The Oxford Mondial Advanced suit is a fantastic cost-effective solution to the struggle of keeping yourself dry when riding.

A long-running success story, Oxford Products are based just outside their namesake University City. Started in 1973, Oxford Products have gone from strength to strength and now export their own products to 60 countries worldwide, as well as distributing some World Class brands like HJC Helmets and Alpinestars.
Oxford Products themselves have led the way in a few areas too; Oxford Lifetime Luggage is the benchmark soft luggage-travel anywhere in the world and if there are bikes, there will be Oxford Luggage fitted to some of them. Hotgrips by Oxford Products are second to none – some clever technology (for example, if your battery voltage drops, the Oxford Hotgrips know to cut out rather than completely kill your battery) means they are the choice of riders like the Russian Police force. Since many of the staff at Oxford Products are active motorcyclists, products are tested and developed in the UK, in the same weather and conditions as most of our customers and us.
If you’re reading this thinking about tucking your motorbike away for the colder months, may we suggest you look at the range of Oxford Products Battery Optimisers – great value and offer at least as many features as the competition. Many of our customers use their Oxford Products battery optimisers on cars and even boats - an Oxford Optimiser 600 has saved many of us here from unplanned battery purchases for the last few years!
Great bit of kit
After having a chat with the guys at the Southampton branch I settled on this jacket, great advice and the guys were very helpful. They even did a demonstration of the waterproofness in store. Since taken it out it’s been fantastic, recently rode in torrential rain for over an hour and frankly, I was astonished at how dry I was underneath. No leaks, no ingress anywhere and the best bit were after hanging it for a short period it was bone dry on the outside. The removable inner lining is very useful too if it’s a bit cold. Overall very happy with the jacket and will hopefully be purchasing the trousers too.
Truly excellent kit
I bought both the trousers and jacket at the NEC in November and it has been the best buy yet for me. I cover just over a 1000 miles per month so these have been thoroughly tested. For the price, you definitely cannot go wrong with the oxford Mondial advanced, superb comfort, waterproofing and windproofing too. I have done some damned long trips in this gear and I'm now buying a second set but in all black this time as a commuter kit. Oxford and infinity have so far been the best with regards to customer service, any problems and they are easily contactable. I do recommend you try this gear if you're looking for hard-wearing and comfy bike kit.
Very poor considering the hype.
Initially it had everything I wanted, adjustable neck, decent air vent, DWR coating where the water runs off. Good pockets. Warm in the winter, good ventilation on the recent hot days. This is where the good points stop. Sadly the first rain soaked into the jacket and took almost a day to dry, but no leaks. Reported to Oxford who think it may be faulty, but we decided to wait. Also told the shop in Southampton about it too who tried to fob me off. Waited 6 months until we had some decent rain as the 20 mile commute shows up nothing and it leaked badly after only 40-50 miles. Wet shoulders and sides, all the outer pockets leaked. A friend has a new 2 week old one and the sleeve zips leaked badly too. His also soaks water up. Sizing is hit and miss, XL in one colour is different to another colour!!!! It is going back tomorrow for a refund. Oxford are interested to check it to see what is wrong.
