Schuberth C5 - Solid
The C5 is Schuberth's new flagship flip-up helmet, the first to be certified to ECE 22.06, with an internal sun visor, and wind-tunnel optimised aerodynamics and acoustics.
Designed and developed using cutting-edge technology and optimised in Schuberth's own wind tunnel facility, the C5 marks Schuberth's first helmet certified to modern ECE 22.06 standards, as well as the first P/J homologated lid to comply. The C5 has been built from the ground up, improving on the former C4 from everything from protection and shape to acoustics and ventilation.
The fibreglass outer shell is designed using patented Direct Fibre Processing (DFP) for a uniquely lightweight yet strong shell, which works in tandem with the multi-density EPS lining for impressive shock absorption. Technicians spent more than 200 hours in Schuberth's proprietary wind tunnel to achieve the very best aerodynamic and noise performance, resulting in a new shell profile and neckroll which creates a perfect seal at the bottom of the shell, achieving an astounding 85 dB(A) at 100 km/h in a naked bike.
The ventilation system has also seen improvement, introducing a new double chin air vent with an exchangeable filter to defog your visor while spreading cool air across your face. The top vent features 3 adjustable positions for controllable air intake, uncovered ventilation channels in the EPS lining and a rear exhaust that draws out humid air.
The face shield can now be secured in place by a new chin lock mechanism to reduce releasing by accident and to conform to 22.06 certification. Pre-installed with a Pinlock branded anti-fog lens, the C5 visor features an improved field of view, a new V-Lock drop-down sun visor, and a memory function feature that fixes the visor in the exact position whether the chin bar is closed, opened or closed again.
The new customisable interior padding equates to a more personalised fit for every head shape, is Oeko-Tex 100 certified and comes pre-fitted with speakers and wiring to seamlessly integrate the Sena Mess intercom kit (sold separately). The anti-roll-off system (AROS) ensures the helmet is kept in place during an accident, and the helmet is secured with a micro-ratchet strap.

When you order a helmet online we can only accept a return when the helmet is unworn and HAS NOT been used out on the motorcycle. When you receive your helmet, please try it on for around an hour in the comfort of your home, do not go out on the motorcycle with it. If the helmet is too loose or is too tight, get in touch and we will help to provide a return.
Circumference Measurement: Wrap a measuring tape around your head starting from the centre of your forehead. Measure about an inch above your eyebrows and hold tape comfortably snug. Take the length and complete it again for good measure. Use the largest of the two readings.

Schuberth helmets were founded in the 1920’s in Braunschweig, Germany. They produce over 1.5 million helmets each year, both under their own brand name and also as BMW brand helmets. A renowned leader in Formula 1 auto helmets, they also supply to 65 armies worldwide, national fire services as well as industry specific headgear for mining, construction, oil/gas, steel, forestry and energy. All of these require exacting professional standards for their specific needs, and for that reason Schuberth have an enviable breadth and depth of manufacturing and engineering experience.
From F1 To SR1
Schuberth often bring their engineering insights from working on different helmets for different industries to bear on their motorcycle helmets. Probably the best example of this is their SR1 helmet range, inspired by their Formula 1 range and designed in close collaboration with Michael Schumacher himself.
These supersport helmets are beautifully designed with a solid feel to every part of the helmet, from the shell itself to the way the moving parts click smoothly and effectively into place. Comfort and durability are both very high quality, and of course they benefit from the most unique feature of Schuberth helmets – they are extremely quiet at high speeds.
Silence At Speed
Schuberth helmets are one of very few manufacturers who have a dedicated wind tunnel in which to test their helmets. During testing, Schuberth helmets are not only optimised aerodynamically but also aero-acoustically too. That is to say that not only does the wind tunnel ensure that your Schuberth helmet remains stable at speed but also remains as quiet as they can possibly be. The current C3 Pro flip front helmet for example has a noise level of less than or equal to 82dB(A) at a constant 100km/h setting a new benchmark for the whole industry.
That's especially good news for riders with tinnitus or sound sensitivity, as we know that ear plugs cannot be relied on to completely protect your hearing in all circumstances.
It's much more than just a helmet for protecting damaged ears, though – without earplugs or helmet, wind noise alone can reach 115 decibels on a motorbike, as much as a loud rock concert. Since decibels are measured in a logarithmic way, this is a huge difference! Logarithmic measurements are like the Richter scale (used to measure earthquakes) and that means that:
Moving from 10 decibels to 20 decibels means that a sound is about 10 times more intense.
Moving from 90 decibels to 100 decibels also means that a sound is about 10 times more intense.
A Schuberth C3 Pro flip front helmet is therefore nearly 2000 times less intense than unfiltered wind noise!
That means that a C3 Helmet is useful for safeguarding your hearing before you hearing can be damaged by excessive and continuous exposure to loud noises. As well as being exceptionally aerodynamic and quiet, the C3 range is also notable for being incredibly light, making it a great choice of helmet if comfort is of high importance to you.

Schuberth Helmet Extras
Schuberth have a few extras that help their helmets stand out from their competitor ranges.
The Anti-Roll-Off-System or A.R.O.S. is a safety feature that is included in every Schuberth helmet, and makes sure that the chinstrap is closed and safely adjusted. The A.R.O.S. means that the helmet cannot pivot off the head from behind and is less likely to cause damage or come into contact with vulnerable areas during a crash, which is important for safety.
Reflex pads also demonstrate Schuberth's commitment to safety, as reflective "Reflex" areas ensure that the motorcyclist is easy to identify and avoid in dark conditions. Early recognition and recognition from a way off means that passive safety is greatly improved by these areas.
Working its way through the planning and design stages for years to ensure it is exactly as good as it can be, the long awaited SRC-system (Schuberth Rider Communication system) can be integrated into the Schuberth helmet acoustic collar within minutes. Problem with the C5 visor
I have had a number of Shoei helmets in the past and decided to try something new, so went for a SCHUBERTH C5 as they are classed as very good helmets. Helmet itself is quite good but has a few niggles. The main problem is the visor keep dropping down at >60 mph which, is quite distracting and seems a common problem from the other posts i have seen. The Infinity chaps are trying to address it by swapping the base plate and hopefully that will keep it sturdy. The second minor niggle is the chin strap padding is velcroed, find that quite annoying when taking the helmet off as the lock is undone but if i forget to un-velcro the strap i am tagging at my chin. Hopefully, the helmet visor issue (which apparently goes back to C3) will be fixed otherwise i will be swapping to what i know, Shoei.
Had previously always used shoei until I decided I wanted a flip lid,unfortunately I choose the c4 pro which was a terrible helmet in every way and had pretty much put me of schuberth…Until I tried this on.it’s superior in every way and everything I was expecting schuberth helmets to be.it’s not the lightest buts it’s super comfortable and does everything well,I was torn between this and the Neotec 2 but with that helmet probably due an upgrade within the next year and that fact that this is 1 of the safest helmets around (according to the new eu safty standards)it was a no brainer especially since infinity priced matched and I could pic up from my local store.all in all a great helmet and great service
After having a string of Shoei helmets, thought I'd try something new. This is an excellent helmet, very well built, warm and quiet. One thing to watch out for is the front upper vent, it is a little flimsy and tends to pop out. Otherwise, a great buy.
