Shoei Glamster - Plain
The Shoei Glamster is a classic-style full-face helmet, with a shock-absorbing AIM shell, ventilation system and E.Q.R.S. security system.
As part of Shoei's Neo-Classic series, the Glamster is a throwback to the 80s era of naked motorcycles, from its iconic ducktail shape and D-ring chinstrap, down to the retro style Shoei logo and the mesh chin vents. But amongst these vintage touches, this full-face helmet doesn't compromise on safety and comfort and is fitted with the latest standards and protection seen in modern Shoei helmets.
The Glamster features Shoei’s signature AIM Shell (Advanced Integrated Matrix), which is made up of three distinct features. Firstly, there is the outer shell made from primarily Fibreglass, then which is integrated with organic fibres to strengthen the bonds. This results in an outer shell that has very high strength but is yet lightweight. The shell is given its shape by a heat-setting plastic resin that also acts to further strengthen the construction of the shell.
The Shoei Glamster has a main front vent on the brow of the helmet just under the retro-styled Shoei logo, which is operated by a glove-friendly shutter. The vents allow a stream of cool fresh air into the channels of the EPS liner cooling your head while you ride before the air is filtered out by the rear exhausts. There is also a group of wide vents on the chin of the helmet to provide even more comfortable cooling.
The interior of the helmet is thankfully not so faithful to the uncomfortable designs of the bygone ’70s and ’80s and is a, fully removable and washable, 3D Centre-pad and cheek-pads made from soft fabric for added comfort. The chinstrap has the ever-reliable and classic-styled Double D-Ring closure.
A ton of bang-up-to-date features and mod cons that will make your riding life easier but it’s the style the Glamster exudes that is its biggest selling point, that aggressive, effortlessly cool '80s style. From the stripped-down vintage design to the retro style Shoei logos to the gorgeous block plain colours and vintage graphics the Glamster is wonderfully evocative of the '80s without any of the drawbacks for protection, performance and comfort.

Shoei was founded in japan in 1958 and have been producing motorcycle helmets since. At the beginning the helmets produced were only for the racing sector, but then founder Eitaro Kamata made the decision to expand their horizons and in 1960 their factory in Tokyo began producing helmets which met the Japanese industrial standards allowing everyday riders to wear their helmets.
Shoei's GRV helmet was the first helmet to use carbon fibre and Kevlar. Shoei also created the first coverless shield system and the Dual Liner Ventilation system. The flagship X-Spirit was introduced in 2003 and was promoted by Shoei as the most advanced helmet in the world, winning MCN's Product of the Year 2003 award in the clothing category. It was followed by further development and the introduction of the RF-1000 (sold as the XR-1000 in Europe) in 2004, and the later introduction of the X-Eleven. These helmets paved the way for the current RF-1100 and X-Twelve models. In September 2010 the QWEST was released, the successor of the RAID II, a top of the line sport touring helmet.
The launch of the Neotec in 2012 was another milestone for Shoei - the addition of a built in sun visor , built into a second shell layer to remove the weakness inherent in adding an internal sun visor.
Shoei sponsors MotoGP riders such as Marc Marquez and Bradley Smith, and being adopted by Honda Motor Co, Shoei has gained respect from motorcycle industries. Although a very successful brand, Shoei still remains a relatively small with under 500 workers worldwide. The helmets are only produced in Japan, yet they are distributed and sold globally.
In 2013, Shoei introduced a 5 year warranty against material and manufacturing defects - all Shoei helmets sold by Infinity Motorcycles are supplied through the official channels and we're Shoei Assured dealers, so our staff are trained in fitting, maintenance and servicing of Shoei helmets and we stock a range of Shoei accessories, spares and visors in all stores.
