Shoei GT Air 2 - Affair TC6
Shoei GT-Air 2
The successor to Shoei's most popular full-face motorcycle helmet, the Shoei GT-Air 2 is designed to be their most innovative and ground-breaking helmet yet, the GT-Air 2 is built by Shoei to be "the answer for every condition".
The Shoei GT-Air 2, like all of Shoei's helmets, is built from the ground up taking the successes from previous helmets and fine-tuning other parts to make improvements. Similar to its predecessor the GT-Air 2 uses multiple layers of organic and multi-composite fibres built around an impact absorbing AIM shell, that offers incredible protection as well abrasion resistance. With 3 options for shell size and varying cheek pad sizes to give you a customized and personal fit that is ideal and perfect for you.
Shoei has subtly tweaked and modified the design of the GT-Air 2 to streamline the helmet further and have also poured more effort into improving the aerodynamics vastly thanks to repeated testing at Shoei's own wind tunnel facility. The helmet features an integrated top spoiler as well as a fully new designed chin spoiler that reduces buffering and relieves pressure on your head and neck at higher speeds. The weight of the Shoei GT-Air 2 has not yet been released but if it is similar to its predecessor (The GT-Air weighed 1450 grams) it will be significantly lighter than most full-face motorcycle helmets on the market.
The ventilation system of the Shoei GT-Air 2 has been drastically redesigned and improved to allow more airflow through the helmet without increasing drag and wind noise. Inlets on the upper head and chin areas of the GT-Air 2 work alongside a new slight open visor position to allow for great airflow into the helmet and to fully circulate around cooling your head but all without misting the visor.
The Shoei GT-Air 2 has been built with modern communication in mind and so utilizes a very low-profile space to fit a Sena SRL2 Communication device that allows for seamless integration for the comms kit without any awkward wires. It also features the newly designed QSV-2 Visor that offers an enlarged field of view, but it is also Pinlock ready.
The GT-Air 2 is another revolution from Shoei, building on all the things they got right with the original GT-Air but putting a huge amount of effort into improving it even further. Shoei has brought their A-game to the modern full-face motorcycle helmet, the Shoei GT-Air 2 motorcycle helmet may just be the new benchmark for full-face helmets.
The Shoei GT-Air 2 is available in a range of different plain colours as well as multiple graphics.

Shoei was founded in japan in 1958 and have been producing motorcycle helmets since. At the beginning the helmets produced were only for the racing sector, but then founder Eitaro Kamata made the decision to expand their horizons and in 1960 their factory in Tokyo began producing helmets which met the Japanese industrial standards allowing everyday riders to wear their helmets.
Shoei's GRV helmet was the first helmet to use carbon fibre and Kevlar. Shoei also created the first coverless shield system and the Dual Liner Ventilation system. The flagship X-Spirit was introduced in 2003 and was promoted by Shoei as the most advanced helmet in the world, winning MCN's Product of the Year 2003 award in the clothing category. It was followed by further development and the introduction of the RF-1000 (sold as the XR-1000 in Europe) in 2004, and the later introduction of the X-Eleven. These helmets paved the way for the current RF-1100 and X-Twelve models. In September 2010 the QWEST was released, the successor of the RAID II, a top of the line sport touring helmet.
The launch of the Neotec in 2012 was another milestone for Shoei - the addition of a built in sun visor , built into a second shell layer to remove the weakness inherent in adding an internal sun visor.
Shoei sponsors MotoGP riders such as Marc Marquez and Bradley Smith, and being adopted by Honda Motor Co, Shoei has gained respect from motorcycle industries. Although a very successful brand, Shoei still remains a relatively small with under 500 workers worldwide. The helmets are only produced in Japan, yet they are distributed and sold globally.
In 2013, Shoei introduced a 5 year warranty against material and manufacturing defects - all Shoei helmets sold by Infinity Motorcycles are supplied through the official channels and we're Shoei Assured dealers, so our staff are trained in fitting, maintenance and servicing of Shoei helmets and we stock a range of Shoei accessories, spares and visors in all stores.
